Just then, a subtle rustle in the tall grass caught our attention. Slowing the car, we realized we weren’t alone. A solitary lioness emerged — graceful, alert, and utterly composed. Perhaps she was tracking prey or making her way back to her pride. She noticed us, but seemed unimpressed.
